چکیده
Micro- and Nano-Fibrillated Cellulose (MNFC) have gained increasing attention due to their remarkable properties, but production usually requires an intensive multi-step process. This study proposes find a novel approach involving steam explosion for the of lignin-containing micro- nano-fibrillated cellulose (L-MNFC) using Eucalyptus globulus bark as new lignocellulosic feedstock. was first pre-treated by in alkaline conditions (200 °C, 8 min) or soda cooking rotating autoclave (170 60 min), refined then ground until gels formed. The chemical composition pulps studied with ion chromatography FTIR-ATR. morphology products measurements suspension turbidity Morfi Neo, optical atomic force microscopies. Nanopapers were produced from L-MNFC investigate mechanical properties. Results obtained showed that slightly higher lignin content (≈ 9%), containing shorter fibers 400 µm) amounts fines 86%) compared 5%, ≈ 560 µm 66%, respectively). Predicting extractives, lignin, and cellulose contents using near infrared spectroscopy on solid wood in Eucalyptus globulus
Near infrared reflectance (NIR) spectroscopy can be used to reliably predict both the physical and chemical wood properties of Eucalyptus. However, studies have been based on ground wood, which is costly and time-consuming to obtain. Predicting wood traits from NIR spectral data taken from solid wood would greatly increase the speed and cost-effectiveness of this procedure. Existing ground wood...
متن کاملLignin changes after steam explosion and laccase-mediator treatment of eucalyptus wood chips.
Eucalyptus globulus chips were steam exploded followed by treatment with a laccase-mediator system (LMS) under different experimental conditions. Removal of hemicelluloses and, to a lesser extent, lignin was observed. Thermogravimetic analyses of whole meal obtained from chips before and after steam explosion indicated an increase in lignin degradation temperature due to lignin condensation. In...
متن کاملNanofibrillated Cellulose as Paper Additive in Eucalyptus Pulps
In this work, the physical and mechanical properties of bleached Eucalyptus pulp reinforced with nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) are compared with those of traditional beaten pulp used in the making of writing/printing and offset printing papers. For this purpose, three different types of hardwood slurries were prepared: beaten pulps, unbeaten pulps reinforced with NFC, and slightly beaten pulp...
متن کاملLow temperature stress and changes in the lignin content and composition in Eucalyptus globulus
It is known that many abiotic stresses, such as mineral deficiency, drought, UV-B radiation, wind and low temperatures, alter the quantity and composition of lignin in several species [1]. The aim of this work was to verify if the cold stress may cause changes in the quantity and composition of lignin in E. globulus. Additionally, we analyzed whether these changes can also be beneficial from th...
متن کاملOptimization of Experimental Variables to Modify Lignin from Eucalyptus globulus under Alkaline Catalysis
Conditions to increase phenolic hydroxyl groups (OH-Phe) in organosolv lignin using alkaline catalysts (NaOH and KOH) were optimized with the purpose of increasing the reactivity of lignin and to evaluate the effect on the structure of the newly generated compounds as a result of the basecatalyzed depolymerization (BCD). The lignin-derived compounds could be used for the synthesis of bio-based ...
